Marketing and Audience Engagement Manager

REPORTS TO: Executive Director 

POSITION STATUS: Full-time Position 

POSITION SUMMARY 

Under general direction, performs a wide variety of duties associated with overseeing engagement of new and current audience members, managing the branding and image of  Symphony NH, all Marketing and PR campaigns, website management and coordination of all printed materials, purchased advertisements, press releases and communications;  management of the box office operations at all SNH performances. Elements of this position may be carried out remotely so there is an option for a hybrid position. These elements will be determined prior to hire. 

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB 

Responsibilities: 

• Strategic execution and management of a comprehensive annual Audience  Engagement and Growth Plan, including the coordination and oversight of supporting initiatives in the areas of marketing, PR, and customer relations. • Provide strategic direction and long-range/short-range planning for all these areas in the context of growing the various Marketing Campaigns while supporting the greater strategic plan, mission, and goals of Symphony NH. 

• Direct and implement the subscription, ticket sales and program advertisement strategies along with the day-to-day management of all aspects of marketing, box office, ticket sales and group sales in the office, online and during all SNH concerts.

• Develop a coordinated matrix of communication and solicitation strategies involving social media, email, direct mail, phone, and personal visitation all focused on shaping a sustainable marketing and communications presence. 

• Propose, manage, and track annual Marketing and PR budgets. 

• Update and maintain SNH website and social media, online sales and giving technology. 

• Hiring and managing Marketing and Communications Interns

• Tracking sales and marketing results, attending, and reporting at all Board of  Trustee meetings. 

• Manage box office operations, staff, and volunteers at all SNH performances. • Attend SNH rehearsals and concerts. 

• Some domestic travel may be included. 

• Perform other duties as assigned. 

Competencies: 

• Previous experience in leading marketing campaigns, from strategizing to implementation to management of the program. 

• Fluency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, online marketing platforms and website maintenance, hosting, and troubleshooting; ability to learn quickly new technology and software trends. 

• Proven track record of achieving ticket sales and advertising goals and initiatives. 

• Understanding of database management, payment processing and customer relations. 

• Ability to recognize opportunities, identify critical activities and prioritize them to attain goals. 

• Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to work towards goals within deadlines. 

• Ability to listen carefully to and understand others, both internally and externally, and proactively respond to those needs in a consistent and timely manner. 

• Excellent writing, analytical, and research skills are essential. 

• A results-oriented individual, who demonstrates the ability to work well with people at all levels of an organization. 

• Openness to new ideas and their implementation. 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE 

• Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent experience in Marketing, PR or comparable field required

• 2-3 years’ experience in Marketing/PR management preferred.

Marginal Functions 

• Attend department and organization meetings, rehearsals, and concerts. • Assist with various administrative duties as needed.
